Rachel Robertson
Rachel Robertson has been teaching the work evolved from Joseph H. Pilates since 1993 in the north county of San Diego , CA.
She is a lifelong student of nutrition, fitness and bodywork. Her background includes nutritional counseling, massage therapy and aerobic exercise training. She has been trained in several modalities of Pilates, including On Center Conditioning in Costa Mesa , California and at the Stott International Certification Center in Toronto , Canada . With Stott, Rachel obtained her certification as an Instructor and a higher degree as a Master Trainer, enabling her to train people to become Pilates instructors.
Rachel has personally trained the instructors who assist her at The Energy Within.
Lea Verdugo
Lea Verdugo has stayed active by doing yoga and dance, as well as participating in competitive sports like water polo, swimming and volleyball. During her college years she kept fit by working with a personal trainer at the gym, but found the results were less than satisfying - muscle strain, joint pain and tendinitis began to develop.
Through searching for an effective, low-impact way to stay in shape, Lea found Pilates. "After my first few classes with Rachel Robertson, I knew I'd found the right match. The workouts were on another level, my core strength and flexibility increased dramatically and my injuries disappeared within weeks. My new found passion for Pilates led me to train with Rachel to become an instructor myself."
Lea loves to watch her clients as they grow in strength and benefit from increased body-awareness.
Shyra Olson
Shyra Olson fell in love with Pilates over 8 years ago. Her interest began with classes at a local gym. In 2002 she started as a client of Rachel Robertson.
Under Rachel’s tutelage she became a certified Pilate’s instructor. Shyra has seen benefits of Pilates in her own life as a busy mother of 2; Pilates helped her through both pregnancies and has been her sanctuary in coping with the stresses of everyday life. Her joy as an Instructor is when her clients can see the results of Pilates. The Balance, flexibility and Strength they find not only applies to there body but also there mind.
Her clients will feel leaner, longer and more flexible. Shyra’s clients will see extensive changes in there bodies, and that is the most gratifying part of Pilates and for her.
